I have been waiting so long for this. I've been wanting to tell everyone. We are moving to Maine!! That's right...this AZ girl is moving to Maine. We are so excited! We have been trying to keep it under wraps for professional reasons but the day has come.
On September 19th I and my 2 older kids will have lived here in AZ for 31 years. That's a long time. Hubby has been here almost as long. We met here about 27 years ago...been marrmied for 25 of them. One more kid and 5 grandkids later we have had and have a full life and are empty nesters ready for a new adventure.
We took a Fall foliage cruise last October and fell in love with New England. We had no idea at the time that only a year later we would be moving there.
I always wanted to go there and I knew I would love it. We were up camping here in AZ at the Grand Canyon north rim and started talking about what we wanted to do when we retire. Being it was over 10 years away we just talked about our dreams but made no plans.
After our cruise last October we came home and threw a big party for my moms 90th birthday. Family and friends came from all over. It was a great time.
In November they all came back for her memorial...she was in a rollover car accident and died 12 days later with us kids by her side. It was one of the most heart breaking experiences of my life that I will never get over..ever.
I feel like I have been sitting still holding my breath since that day. I needed a reason to breathe again. ..to live again...even with the pain inside me.
We talked about a new adventure and starting over. We talked about many places we would like to go..Montana, Washington state, New Hampshire, Vermont...but Maine with its beauty and stunning coastline won out. And now we are off to Dexter, Maine...the center of the state and easy to get to anywhere we want to explore.
We have sold our house here in AZ and found a beautiful 1913 fully restored Colonial home and hubby has found a job there too. We are packing feverishly and the house should close October 9th and then we are off to Maine. ❤️. And the story goes on.........
